My name is Irina Kaneva, I live in Saint Petersburg.
My main aspiration is to try to show the splendor of the Lord in my works through the incredible beauty and brightness of this world. What inspires me? First of all – the qualities of the Almighty Lord , his love for all of us and the mercy of people devoted to Him. I am also energized by bright, creative, active, searching people and, of course, the beauty of nature. 🙂
It so happened that I graduated from the Polytechnic University with a degree in electrical Engineering, but I have been learning to draw since early childhood. First it was the Palace of youth creativity, then-commercial courses in St. Petersburg, where I studied painting and illustration in detail. My work was especially influenced by the works of Vrubel, Rembrandt, Kuindzhi, and the French Impressionists. In my opinion, art should raise people’s consciousness – this is its true purpose.
I write for friends, for their projects, or just as a gift. Before I draw something, I search the Internet for images and ideas on the topic I need. Then I think a lot, make sketches, discuss them with the customer, and then do the finishing work. In General, preparation takes a long time. 🙂
In the creative process, the main thing for me is to just relax and draw as it goes, just create and not be afraid to get something”wrong” or ” in the wrong way”.
