Raminta Blazeviciute was born and raised in Alytus. From 2012 to 2016 she graduated from the “Vilnius Academy of Arts” with a bachelor’s degree in painting. From 2016 to 2018 she graduated from the master’s studio at the “Vilnius Academy of Arts”. From 2010 to 2012 she studied at the Kaunas Art Gymnasium. The first solo exhibition «Traveling with two companions» took place in 2019, when the artist was already collaborating with the gallery «The Rooster». Now Raminta participates in many group exhibitions, art competitions, art fairs in Lithuania and abroad.
The work of Raminta Blazeviciute is easy to recognize by its original and unique style, which resembles children’s drawings. Her paintings, drawings and animations reflect the interweaving of reality with dreams, visions and projections of the future, intertwined with memories of the past. The artist often connects opposite poles, constantly searches for their harmony and discovers paradoxes that are born at the junction of opposites. Measuring time is also important for her in her work: the temporality, temporality of states, the relationship between «now» and «once» are analyzed. The artist creates multi-layered narratives from personal experience, cultural (literary, cinematic) references and theoretical ideas.
